WHO IS THE SCOOTER?
The Scooter was named after Sparky, who raced a big tyre scooter when he was younger.
TASTING NOTES:
The 2024 Scooter is fragrant and silky smooth, enticing with a nose full of cherries and forest fruits. The first sip reveals fresh plum and sweet berries, followed by a gentle hint of nutmeg and cinnamon spice. Finely balanced with delicate tannins, the 2023 Scooter offers a refined complexity that makes this Merlot a true pleasure to enjoy.
TECHNICAL NOTES:
The grapes were grown on the Long Gully Road vineyard in McLaren Vale. Barrel fermented and matured in 97% American and 3% French oak, using 27% new, 49% one year old and 24% two year old barrels. The required Marquis Fruit Weight™ for the Lefty Series is 65% – 75%. The Actual Fruit Weight for 2024 The Scooter is 66%.
